About Karthik
 

Karthik is a young Entrepreneur and Canine behaviourist. After completing his degree as a mechanical engineer, his passion for dogs pushed him to pursue a career in pet care. From running a pet clinic business to conducting masterclasses, he has gained a tremendous amount of knowledge and expertise.Karthik has been certified by internationally renowned canine behaviourists and has worked with over 5000 dogs and helped around 9000 pet families in the last 12 years. He has been certified as an internationally recognized dog trainer under the True2Life registered trademark and was awarded with ‘Most Inspiring Dog Trainer’ award in 2019 for his passion and work in this field.

Work Experience
❖Freelance Dog trainer/ Dog Walker
What started off as a hobby in school, grew into a lucrative part time profession in college years. Karthik saw massive opportunities in the increasing demand for dog walking and training services in urban Bangalore and started his work here.


❖Managing Partner @The Urban Pet
A pet care center aimed at providing multiple services such as pet products and accessories, Pet clinic, Pet grooming and Training under the same roof. In addition to founding the start-up, Karthik was also involved in overall management and administration. The Urban Pet grew to become a profitable business making millions under the guidance of Karthik who then decided to part ways due to his misalignment with the functioning of the pet food industry at large. Today, he is a firm believer of providing natural, organic food for canines and along with his wife has taken many initiatives in this direction.

The most recent endeavor to help people experience the depth of the human-dog bond through well designed experiences and sessions. The organization not only provides training and consultation services but has also expanded to become one of India’s first premium dog hotels. Karthik’s ideals and knowledge are visibly evident in the way the setup is created and operated. While most pet boardings are designed to house dogs in kennels and cages, Dattatreya Divine dogs takes the well-being and happiness of dogs into prime consideration and provides luxury house like setup for our canine companions. His wife is the other co-founder. She is an established b2b food entrepreneur and nutritionist. She takes care of all that needs to be done, to ensure all dogs live a healthy life with good Immunity and Longevity. Her Maverick ideas support Karthik to do new things (like offering free training for an year), and keeps work more enjoyable and fun.
 
Achievements :-Karthik is also popularly known for his public speaking skills and has been invited to numerous organizations to talk about interesting topics such as ‘Choosing alternative career paths’ and ‘Learning from Dogs’ to name a few. He was also invited as a Ted-Ex Youth Speaker to share his life story and experiences to inspire the young generation. He has been interviewed by various news platforms such as CNN News 18, Suvarna Kannada and has appeared on newspapers The Times of India, The Indian Express, The Hindu and Prajavaani.
His expertise in the field extends beyond the country. Through a variety of online sessions and seminars, he has helped families in USA, UK, Netherlands, China and UAE. With the help of his guidance and training, his students have gone on to receive laureates such as 'American Canine Good Citizen' in the USA recognized by The American Kennel Club (AKC).
 

_Contributions to Society_
Aside from training, He is also actively involved in a variety of pet related events, ranging from pet awareness drives at apartments to interactive sessions at schools and educational centers. He strongly believes that interaction with dogs can bring out the best in people and aims to do just this by his talks and workshops.Enlisted below are some of his endeavors to promote and project the human-dog bond:
● Canine therapy sessions at Magpie speech & language intervention center for kids with Autism, Down syndrome and Cerebral Palsy.
● Animal Assisted Activity (AAA) workshops conducted at Ishanya India Foundation, Brindavan Education trust and other special education centers.
● Dog awareness & interaction workshops at schools and educational centers. Some of these include Anweshadhii learning center, Elly childcare, Mudpie international, Samhita academy, Bachpan school, Harvest International, Oakridge academy, Neev academy and Kai early years.
● Recreational sessions for the elderly at Nightingales Trust, JP Nagar.
● Member of The Human-Dog Interaction project, an initiative aimed at conducting awareness workshops for working professionals. Major collaborations include Infosys, Accenture, Sakhra Hospital and Practo.
● Awareness drives and talks on community living at apartments and communities. Events have been successfully conducted at L&T South City, Elita Promenade, Purva Panorama, Brigade Millennium, Aikya and DLF Westend heights.
● Seminars and talks conducted at Ishanya India Foundation, Brindavan Education Trust and Inspiron Mental Health and Wellness institute on the new and emerging field of “Animal Assisted Therapy”.
 

Other Interests & Initiatives:-
Karthik strongly believes that spending quality time with dogs in nature can help connect us to a deeper side of ourselves and can thereby help in personal and spiritual development. In this direction, he conducts weekly Nature walks at picturesque locations enveloped in mother nature. These sessions have proved to be immensely helpful in re-establishing a connect between dogs and their owners… something that's surely the 'need of the hour' in modern urban times!

Since his introduction to Spirulina and Ganoderma, he has gone on to help over 50 dogs. Today through Karthik’s guidance, dogs across the globe (USA, Germany, UK etc.) are consuming Spirulina and Ganoderma for their overall health and behavioral stability. From curing infections to saving a dog having terminal cancer, he and his wife have helped impact not just human lives but also those that cannot speak...
Currently, Karthik is associated with business and pet organization in the UAE. He and his wife are proud holders of the Dubai residency and regularly shuttle between the two countries.

 
Karthik has always worked in the best interest of animals and in this direction has launched his one-of-a-kind pilot programme offering dog training and behavior consultations to pet parents completely free of cost! While this might sound quite surprising, this initiative is aimed at revolutionizing the way people look at the field of dog training in India and promoting responsible and sensible ownership of dogs. This goes beyond a mere social experiment and is also a way of giving back to the very community that has pushed him to follow his dream and passion.
